Fransa İranın Naxçıvana dron hücumunu qətiyyətlə pislədi

The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs has expressed full solidarity with Azerbaijan regarding the recent Iranian drone attack on Nakhchivan.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this was stated in an official communique from the French MFA.

"France strongly condemns the Iranian drone attack that struck Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan International Airport this morning. France wishes a speedy recovery to the four individuals injured during this attack," the statement read.

On March 5, Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeted facilities within the territory of Nakhchivan. One drone struck the terminal building of the Nakhchivan International Airport, while a second fell near a school building in the village of Shekarabad. The strike on the airport resulted in injuries to four civilians. Following the incident, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan, Mojtaba Demirchilu, was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Azerbaijan has officially declared that it reserves the right to launch a retaliatory strike in response to the aggression.

Nakhchivan, an exclave of the Republic of Azerbaijan, holds significant strategic importance in the region. This escalation comes amid a complex geopolitical landscape where Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its sovereign borders and regional security. International observers note that such provocations against civilian infrastructure, including international airports, constitute a serious violation of international law and regional stability.
