The salaries of nearly 90,000 education workers will receive additional payments as a result of the certification process.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Education Minister Emin Amrullayev made the announcement at a news conference on the new academic year.
He said 104,000 education workers have so far taken part in the certification process:
"Additional payments have been added to the salaries of 73,000 of them. Additional payments are expected to be made to the salaries of another 17,500 education workers."
It was reported that about 20,000 teachers took part for the first time in the certification held from June 17 to 25, 2026:
"In addition, 16,569 people participated in the subjects covered by certification for the first time — history, technology, physical education, music and visual arts. About 6,000 teachers completed all stages of the teacher recruitment competition and started working in schools."
Certification is one of Azerbaijan's mechanisms for assessing teachers' professional knowledge and supporting differentiated salary increases based on performance. The process is carried out for teachers in selected subject areas within the country's general education system.
