US President Donald Trump has announced that the airspace over Venezuela will be reopened for international flights.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing foreign media reports, the decision follows a high-level diplomatic engagement between Washington and Caracas. The move marks a significant shift in regional aviation policy and bilateral relations.

US President Donald Trump made the announcement on January 29 following a telephone conversation with the country's interim president, Delcy Rodriguez. During the discussion, US President Donald Trump instructed the Pentagon and the Department of Transportation to implement the necessary regulatory changes by the end of the day. He noted that Rodriguez provided updates regarding progress in improving the security situation within Venezuela, which served as a primary factor for the decision.

The reopening of Venezuelan airspace is expected to significantly reduce flight times for commercial carriers operating routes between North and South America. For several years, international airlines had been forced to bypass the region due to safety concerns and political tensions. This development is seen as a crucial step toward normalizing regional logistics and enhancing economic connectivity in the Western Hemisphere.
