Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has launched a new digital registration service for citizens traveling on the Baku–Nakhchivan–Baku route.
This information was provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
According to the report, passengers on domestic flights will now be able to verify their identity using the "mygov" application, eliminating the need to present physical identification documents at the check-in counter.
Under the new service, passengers scan a QR code placed at the check-in desk using the mygov application. Once the citizen reviews and authorizes the transfer of data within the app, their identity information is automatically transmitted to the registration system, making the check-in process faster, more convenient, and efficient.
The service is currently being implemented at both Baku and Nakhchivan airports, creating a more flexible service environment for passengers. This new digital solution is part of broader ongoing projects aimed at expanding the use of digital technologies at airports and further enhancing the overall passenger experience in Azerbaijan.
The digital registration service is optional. Passengers may still choose to check in by presenting their physical ID card, as per the previous procedure.
The integration of the mygov platform into airport operations reflects Azerbaijan's broader strategy of digital transformation, which seeks to streamline public services and reduce bureaucratic hurdles for citizens through the "e-government" framework.
