The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a decision identifying the public need requiring the acquisition of land and the body responsible for acquiring it.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the decision was signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
Under the decision, the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency has been designated as the acquiring body for land plots needed for construction projects involving the reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems, meeting demand for irrigation water, and the construction of buildings and hydraulic structures in the Aghstafa, Goygol, Aghdam and Fuzuli districts, excluding the liberated territories.
The agency is instructed to carry out preparatory measures related to the acquisition of land for public needs in accordance with the requirements of the law “On the acquisition of land for public needs” and submit its proposals to the government.
The decision is part of broader efforts to modernize water supply, sewerage and irrigation infrastructure in Azerbaijan. Land acquisition for public projects is conducted under the relevant legal procedures, which are intended to establish the public need and identify the responsible state body.
