The Main State Traffic Police Department of Azerbaijan has issued an official appeal to road users regarding the upcoming consecutive non-working days. Due to the holidays and weekends, a significant increase in traffic intensity is expected on roads of national importance, as well as on highways leading to tourism and recreation zones across Azerbaijan.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the department urged drivers to adjust their speed according to road and weather conditions. The official statement emphasizes that motorists should refrain from driving if they feel unwell, fatigued, or sleep-deprived, and must maintain a safe following distance while avoiding risky overtaking maneuvers.
"In addition, drivers are requested to strictly comply with traffic regulations and pay close attention to the technical condition of their vehicles before setting out on a journey," the appeal stated. The Main State Traffic Police Department regularly issues such warnings during public holidays in Azerbaijan to ensure public safety and minimize the risk of traffic accidents during periods of high congestion on the country's main transport arteries.
