Azerbaijan’s prime minister meets World Bank delegation

The sides discussed prospects for cooperation between the Cabinet of Ministers and the international financial institution, as well as economic reforms in Azerbaijan.

Prime Minister Ali Asadov met today with a delegation led by Roland Pryce, the World Bank’s regional director for the South Caucasus.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the meeting highlighted the long-standing and effective partnership between Azerbaijan and the World Bank. The sides noted that joint projects implemented in recent years had contributed to the country’s socioeconomic development.

The meeting emphasized opportunities to expand cooperation in sustainable urban development, green energy, transport infrastructure, agriculture, water supply and water resources management, as well as in several other areas.

The sides also discussed prospects for developing mutually beneficial cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank and future joint projects.

Taleh Kazimov, chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, attended the meeting.

The World Bank is an international development institution that provides financing, policy advice and technical assistance to countries seeking to strengthen economic growth, public services and sustainable development.
