Victory Day on November 8 celebrates the national pride, statehood, unity and unbreakable resolve of the Azerbaijani people.
The Azerbaijani Press Council said this in a statement issued for Victory Day on November 8, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
“The historic Victory achieved by the valiant Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of President and Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev is a vivid embodiment of our country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, national solidarity, and unity among the people, state and army. This magnificent Victory also demonstrated to the world the Azerbaijani people’s determination and unbreakable will to restore historical justice.
“We proudly note that Azerbaijani journalists also played a distinctive role in achieving this historic Victory. Some of our colleagues literally turned their pens into weapons, took part in military operations in defense of the Motherland and were awarded high state honors for their bravery. Throughout the 44-day Patriotic War, Azerbaijani media tirelessly fought on the information front, making an important contribution to conveying our state’s and people’s rightful voice to the international community and maintaining high morale and the will to win in society.
“Our sacred Victory is an enduring example of national will, patriotism and loyalty to the state to be passed on to future generations. We remember with deep respect the heroic sons and daughters of the Motherland who gave their lives for this great Victory, and express our gratitude to our veterans who lost their health in the struggle to liberate our lands.
“The Azerbaijani Press Council warmly congratulates our people and members of the media community on Victory Day on November 8. May our Victory be eternal and our unity unbreakable!” the statement said.
