“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that the statement was posted on the “X” social media account of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It said that the Azerbaijani Army’s unprecedented heroism and historic victory in the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020, under the leadership of Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief President Ilham Aliyev, became a triumph of the nation’s will, unity and unshakable resolve:
“This magnificent victory was the most important stage on the historic path to restoring Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. Victory Day is a symbol of our national solidarity, our commitment to statehood and our confidence in the future. Today, as a victorious state, Azerbaijan is resolutely continuing its efforts to strengthen lasting peace, stability and cooperation in the region.
On this sacred day, we remember with deep respect the cherished memory of our martyrs who gave their lives for the homeland, and express our gratitude to our veterans and all participants in the war for their sacrifices. The determination and courage of our heroes will live on in the memory of our people, and the chronicle of our victory will be a source of pride and inspiration for future generations. Happy Victory Day!”
