A total of 1.6 million manats has been allocated for the implementation of repair and restoration works at the Juma Mosque located in the city of Ganja.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to this effect.
According to the decree, the funds were allocated from the President's Reserve Fund to the State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the purpose of preserving the architectural integrity of the historic site.
The Juma Mosque of Ganja, also known as the Shah Abbas Mosque, is a significant historical and architectural monument dating back to the early 17th century. Built in 1606 by architect Sheikh Baheddin Mohammad Amili, the mosque serves as a cornerstone of Ganja's cultural heritage and Islamic architecture in Azerbaijan. This latest restoration initiative is part of the state's broader strategy to protect and revitalize national religious and historical monuments across Azerbaijan.
