President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the metal products plant of ASMC LLC at Aghdam Industrial Park on November 7.

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Almet Holding OJSC founder Shirin Jamalli briefed the head of state on the plant’s operations.

ASMC LLC, whose main founder is Almet Holding OJSC, was registered as a resident of Aghdam Industrial Park in 2024. The project, with a total value of 24.9 million manats, is being implemented in two phases. The first phase, valued at 8.8 million manats, was financed with private funds and nearly 4.7 million manats in bank loans subsidized by the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund, which operates under the Ministry of Economy. The second phase envisages an investment of 16.1 million manats. As an industrial park resident, the plant has been exempted from value-added tax and customs duties worth 470,000 manats.

Located on an area of about 1.7 hectares, the plant will produce steel mesh, barbed wire, drawn wire, annealed wire, galvanized wire and nails. In the first phase, its annual production capacity will be 4,920 tonnes of steel mesh, 3,480 tonnes of drawn wire, 3,180 tonnes of nails, 1,800 tonnes of annealed wire, 12,000 tonnes of wire and 1,080 tonnes of cold-deformed reinforcing steel. The second phase plans annual production of 10,000 tonnes of galvanized wire and 8,240 tonnes of high-carbon drawn wire.

The plant’s steel mesh, wire and nails are materials widely used in construction and restoration work in the liberated territories. Producing them in the region will help supply construction projects locally and reduce transportation costs.

The plant, equipped with machinery from leading companies in Italy, Germany, Türkiye and China, will sell its products on the domestic market and export them.

The plant currently employs 26 people. Once it reaches full capacity, the number of permanent jobs will rise to 100.

Large-scale measures are being implemented under the leadership of the head of state to reintegrate the liberated territories into the country’s economic space. Infrastructure established in industrial parks, tax and customs concessions, and the Azerbaijan Business Development Fund’s preferential financing and guarantee mechanisms encourage private-sector investment in the region.
