Starting a war is easy, but ending it is difficult.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, themed “Dialogue for a Common Future,” in Baku.
The head of state said new wars were emerging around the world:
“Starting a war is easy, but ending it is difficult. In this regard, considering Azerbaijan’s experience, our struggle was justified. We stopped and offered peace. Parties at war should study this experience. It could help them end their wars. I believe our experience could be very valuable in this respect. Conflicts differ in nature, but most are interconnected. They involve claims, aggression, superiority and a sense of impunity. In our case, this went on for more than 30 years. But we put an end to it. We did so in accordance with international law.”
