Sardar Suleyman oglu Safarov
Chief of the State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Objects
Biography
Sardar Suleyman oglu Safarov was born in 1973 in the city of Sumgayit. From 1996 to 2005, he served in the Special Purpose Unit of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as commander of a special-purpose company and chief of staff of a special-purpose battalion.
From 2019 to 2022, he served as deputy head and head of the Public Security Department of the Baku City Main Police Department, and later as deputy chief of the Baku City Main Police Department for service. In 2023, he served as the commandant of Khankendi. Before his appointment to the State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Objects, he served as head of the Main Public Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
By an Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated October 24, 2025, he was appointed Chief of the State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Objects; by another Order issued on the same day, he was awarded the highest military rank of Major General. He has been awarded the medals “For Military Services,” “For Bravery,” and “For the Motherland.”
