Biography
Zaur Intigam oglu Fatizade was born in Baku in 1971.
He began his career as a worker in 1987 and worked as an economist at the Line Operations Directorate in 1988. In 1993–1994, he worked as an accountant in the public and private sectors; from 1994, he held various positions in the tax authorities, and from 2004, senior positions. From 2009 to 2015, he headed the Special Regime Tax Service Department under the Ministry of Taxes; from 2015 to 2019, he served as an adviser to the Minister, head of department, head of the main department, and Director General of a department at the Ministry of Taxes; and from 2019 to 2022, he headed the main departments for International Taxation and Tax Monitoring and for Tax Returns and Control of Desk Tax Audits at the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy.
On 22 December 2022, by order of the President, he was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of the Financial Monitoring Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He was awarded the Medal for Distinction in Public Service in 2007, and the 3rd Class Medal for Distinction in Service in the Tax Authorities in 2010 and the 1st Class medal in 2020. In 2012, he was awarded the special rank of State Tax Service Adviser, 3rd Class.
Education
In 1988, he entered the Baku branch of the Leningrad Institute of Finance and Economics named after N. A. Voznesensky, graduating in 1993 from the Faculty of Finance and Credit of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Economics.
