Australian fighter Alexander Volkanovski has become the UFC athlete with the most victories in featherweight title fights.
The 38-year-old Volkanovski defeated Russia’s Movsar Yevloyev by second-round technical knockout at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi on October 24, retaining his championship belt.
The victory was Volkanovski’s ninth in UFC featherweight title fights. He surpassed former UFC champion Jose Aldo, who has eight such wins.
Volkanovski and Aldo had previously shared the record for the most victories in title fights in the division.
