UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski has said his performance against Movsar Yevloyev will surprise fans. He believes the contrast between his style and his opponent’s approach will make for an entertaining contest.
Volkanovski told the UFC he was not making the prediction solely because he believes he is currently in the best form of his career. He said spectators might say after the fight that they had not expected such a performance.
“I think people will say after the fight, ‘Wow, I didn’t expect that, especially at 38.’ I genuinely believe everyone will be talking about it right after the bout,” Volkanovski said.
Volkanovski and Yevloyev will fight for the championship belt on Oct. 24 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The bout is scheduled to headline UFC 333. Volkanovski has competed in 32 MMA fights, winning 28. Yevloyev has won all 20 of his bouts.
