US President Donald Trump has jokingly warned Vice President JD Vance regarding his public speaking performance, suggesting that if he performs too well, he might be reassigned to the role of press secretary.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Vance recounted the interaction, noting that President Trump advised him not to deliver an overly impressive speech. The exchange reportedly took place in the Oval Office while Vance was preparing for an upcoming address. Vance recalled Trump telling him, "Be careful. I want you to do a good job, but if you do too well, I might make you press secretary."
The Vice President jokingly remarked that following this warning, he intentionally tried to make minor errors during his speech to avoid leaving an overly positive impression on the press corps.
