At least three people were killed and 16 injured in Ukrainian attacks in Russia, while Russian strikes killed at least four and injured 32 in Ukraine, officials from both countries said on Sunday, according to Anadolu Agency.
In Russia’s Bryansk region, two people were killed and two seriously injured when a Ukrainian drone struck a minibus belonging to an agricultural enterprise in the village of Borshchovo, regional head Yegor Kovalchuk said.
In Belgorod, one person was killed and 14 injured in a large-scale overnight drone attack, regional Governor Alexander Shuvaev said on the Russian social media platform “Max”.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Telegram that four people were killed and 22 injured in Russian shelling of the Dnipropetrovsk region the previous evening.
Over the past week, Russia had launched around 1,600 guided aerial bombs, 48 missiles of various types, including ballistic missiles, and nearly 2,300 attack drones at Ukraine, Zelenskyy said.
“This is how Russia responds to diplomacy and de-isolation,” Zelenskyy said, adding that support for Ukraine’s defenders must not decline alongside negotiations.
He called for European countries to deliver interceptors for “Patriot” air defense systems, which they had already agreed to provide. He also urged continued support for Ukrainian combat aviation to counter jet-powered “Shahed” drones.
Earlier, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said 10 people, including three emergency responders, were injured in Russian strikes in Kharkiv and Vinnytsia. The service added that six more people were injured in a Russian strike on a residential five-story building in Vinnytsia.
The attacks sparked fires, and emergency crews came under repeated strikes as they responded, the service said. A fire engine tanker was completely destroyed.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces continued overnight strikes against logistics centers, port infrastructure facilities in Ukraine and vessels carrying supplies for Ukrainian forces.
In Kharkiv, Russian strikes hit the “Epicentr” logistics center, a distribution center and the Vasyshchevo logistics terminal, the ministry said. It said the facilities were used to store military or dual-use goods intended to support Ukraine’s armed forces.
The ministry also claimed that a dry cargo vessel carrying supplies for Ukrainian forces was struck while crossing the sea en route to the port of Chornomorsk.
Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 532 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over 25 Russian regions overnight, the ministry said.
The claims from both sides could not be independently verified.
