The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the conclusion of military operations against Iran in an official statement released on its social media account. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the strikes conducted on June 9 were carried out in response to the downing of a US Army Apache helicopter and were executed under the direct orders of US President Donald Trump.

During the operation, US Air Force and Naval combat aircraft utilized precision-guided munitions. The strikes targeted Iranian air defense systems, ground control stations, and surveillance radars located near the Strait of Hormuz. CENTCOM noted that this action was a proportionate response to recent, escalating threats against US forces and international commercial shipping in the region.

US President Donald Trump confirmed that the helicopter was downed by Iranian forces, emphasizing the necessity of responding to such aggression. In response, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi did not directly address the downing of the helicopter. Instead, he suggested that foreign forces in the region are constantly at risk due to human error or accidental incidents, arguing that the withdrawal of these forces is the best path to de-escalation. US forces remain in a state of high readiness to defend against potential aggression.

The Strait of Hormuz, where these events occurred, is one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, through which a significant portion of the global oil supply passes. Tensions in this region have historically fluctuated, often involving complex geopolitical maneuvering between regional powers and international actors, underscoring the strategic importance of maintaining freedom of navigation.
