Azerbaijani karatekas Vusal Ganbarov and Shamo Kamilov have reached the finals of the World Cadet and Junior Karate Championships in Bielsko-Biala, Poland.
Both athletes won all their preliminary-round bouts, securing at least silver medals.
Ganbarov is competing in the under-16 55-kilogram category, while Kamilov is in the over-70-kilogram category for under-14 athletes. Their final bouts will be held today.
Two other Azerbaijani representatives also remain in contention for bronze medals. Fatma Hajiyeva (U16, 59 kg) will compete for third place on October 17, while Rashid Suleymanov (U21, 75 kg) will do so on October 18.
Azerbaijan has therefore secured two medals at the world championships and could finish the competition with four.
