Atletico coach Diego Simeone assessed his team’s current form ahead of its La Liga match against Espanyol in the ninth round. The Madrid side is second in the standings.
“Winning six games does not mean everything is ideal. Mistakes are inevitable at different stages of a match. I think taking the initiative in our games benefits the team. Overall, there are areas we need to improve in both attack and defense,” Simeone told AS.
Espanyol will host Atletico at the RCDE Stadium in Barcelona on Oct. 17. The match will kick off at 16:00 Baku time, with Alejandro Hernandez of Lanzarote appointed as the referee.
