UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski has offered lightweight champion Justin Gaethje a title fight.
In a video posted on social media, Volkanovski described the matchup as a “superfight between two UFC champions” that could bring both fighters’ careers to an end.
“Let’s have a superfight at lightweight for the title! After that, we can both say goodbye to MMA. It would be a great fight for the real fans,” Volkanovski said.
He said Gaethje had been considering whether to fight again and questioning the point of rematches. Volkanovski urged the American fighter to take part in a bout between the two champions.
On October 24, Volkanovski will attempt to defend his title against Russian fighter Movsar Evloev.
