Türkiye’s Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş has issued a statement on financial support provided to young people and newly married couples under the Family and Youth Fund.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Türkiye’s Ministry of Family and Social Services published an official statement on the matter.
According to the statement, the project covers all 81 provinces of the country and is financed through revenues generated from Türkiye’s underground resources.
To expand the scope of applications, the loan amounts and income criteria have been updated. Under the revised terms:
Couples aged 18 to 25 receive loans of 250,000 liras,
while those aged 26 to 29 receive 200,000 liras.
Approved loans are provided for 48 months, with no payments required during the first two years. At the same time, the income threshold for the previous six months has been raised from 2.3 times the minimum wage to 2.5 times the minimum wage.
In addition, special concessions apply to couples who have a child during the loan period. Following the birth of a first child, 12 months of payments are waived, and subsequent payments are deferred for 12 months. If a second child is born, the entire remaining debt is canceled. So far, 20,162 couples have benefited from the concession related to a first child, while the debts of 409 couples with two or more children have been fully written off. A total of 20,988 children have been born to the 20,571 couples supported by the fund.
Minister Göktaş said the fund, launched as a pilot project in 2024 and expanded nationwide in 2025, has received 308,767 applications in total. Over the past month, 2.076 billion liras was paid to 18,334 young people. As a result, a total of 21.048 billion liras in interest-free loans has been provided to 222,988 young people planning to marry. In addition to financial assistance, 260,234 young people have received support through training and counseling services.
