Türkiye's Ministry of National Defense has issued a post marking the anniversary of Baku's liberation from occupation.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the post said that the spirit of the brotherhood epic written in Baku 108 years ago continues to live on today.
“On the 108th anniversary of Baku's liberation from enemy occupation, we commemorate with mercy, gratitude and respect Nuru Pasha and the heroes of the Caucasian Islamic Army who came to the aid of our Azerbaijani brothers.”
The Caucasian Islamic Army, commanded by Nuru Pasha, entered Baku in September 1918 and helped end the city's occupation during the final months of World War I. The event is regarded in Azerbaijan and Türkiye as a significant symbol of the two nations' historical solidarity.
