Turkish-made products being sold in Israel have drawn attention as discussions continue on Turkish social media about Azerbaijan’s political and economic ties with Israel.
According to an investigation by “Operative Information Center-OMM”, products from Paşabahçe, one of Türkiye’s well-known brands, are also available in Israeli stores.
The products appear to carry information in both Hebrew and Turkish, indicating that they were intended for sale in the Israeli market.
Paşabahçe is part of Şişecam, one of Türkiye’s major industrial groups. Şişecam operates in the production of glassware, glass products and flat glass.
Trade between Türkiye and Israel
Türkiye and Israel have developed extensive economic and trade ties over many years.
According to Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade, bilateral foreign trade turnover amounted to approximately $9.5 billion in 2022 and $7 billion in 2023.
The sale of Turkish-made products, including Paşabahçe goods, in Israel indicates that traces of the countries’ previous economic ties remain in certain segments of the market.
At the same time, determining the routes and dates through which specific products entered Israel, as well as the legal and commercial mechanisms currently governing their sale, requires a separate investigation.
Trade relations between Türkiye and Israel, and how those ties have changed in recent years, remain subjects of discussion in both Turkish and international media.
