Turkish President Erdoğan plays basketball with officials

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan played basketball with people close to him.

“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Mustafa Varank, a Bursa lawmaker from Türkiye’s Justice and Development Party (AK Party), shared footage of Erdoğan playing basketball on his social media account.

The footage also features Labor and Social Security Minister Vedat Işıkhan, National Intelligence Organization (MIT) chief İbrahim Kalın, former Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Ömer Onan alongside President Erdoğan.

Varank shared the footage with the caption: “Yes, he won again!”

Basketball is a popular sport in Türkiye, and the country has a prominent professional league and a strong national basketball tradition. Public footage of political figures taking part in sports activities is often shared on social media.
