US President Donald Trump’s official financial disclosure shows thousands of purchases and sales involving shares in major technology and defense companies, including Microsoft, Nvidia, Palantir, SpaceX and Tesla, held in his name.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the information was published by the BBC and international financial outlets.

According to the official documents, Microsoft shares worth between $6.5 million and $31 million were sold from Trump’s financial accounts, while new purchases valued between $165,000 and $400,000 were also made.

The disclosure shows that more than 1,000 stock market transactions involved the purchase and sale of shares in Nvidia, a manufacturer of artificial intelligence chips, and Palantir, a major contractor for the US Department of Defense, known as the Pentagon, and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, or ICE.

A White House spokesperson told the BBC that President Trump’s investment portfolio is managed entirely independently by third-party financial institutions.

The spokesperson said:

“Neither President Trump nor any member of his family has any direction, influence or involvement in how the portfolio is invested, or in when investments are bought or sold. There is no conflict of interest.”

The disclosure also includes transactions worth thousands of dollars involving shares in SpaceX, the aerospace and satellite company led by Elon Musk. SpaceX went public on the Nasdaq exchange in June this year through an initial public offering, or IPO. Although its share price fell sharply amid volatility in July and August, it is currently trading 14% above its initial listing price.

The disclosure also confirms active trading in shares of Tesla, the electric vehicle manufacturer owned by Elon Musk.

Donald Trump has disclosed thousands of stock market transactions since taking office as president in January last year. The latest disclosure comes as the United States intensifies its strategy to maintain global leadership and strengthen security in the field of artificial intelligence.

Trump argues that regulatory restrictions on artificial intelligence would leave the United States behind China and rejects calls to slow development on security grounds. Speaking at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, the US leader said he wanted to rebrand artificial intelligence technologies as “superintelligence” capable of securing America’s global dominance. Trump again stressed that the United States must win the technological race, saying, “Whoever wins artificial intelligence will win the world.”
