US President Donald Trump said the country has sufficient ammunition and that its reserves are being replenished rapidly.
"Operative Information Center-OMM" reported, citing foreign media outlets.
Trump called those claiming that the United States was facing an ammunition shortage liars and traitors.
"This is not true. We have more ammunition than we could ever use, and we are now replenishing our stocks at a rate never seen before," the US president said.
Last week, the US Department of Defense inspector general said the war against Iran had caused ammunition shortages and disruptions in the supply chain.
The report said the United States had spent more than $22 billion on ammunition between February and June, creating shortages in strategic reserves.
The White House, commenting on the report, said the United States had more ammunition than necessary.
Strategic ammunition reserves are maintained to support military readiness and ensure that the armed forces can respond to prolonged or unexpected security challenges. Disputes over reserve levels and supply chains have become a recurring issue in defense policy discussions.
