US President Donald Trump said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky missed an opportunity two years ago to secure a more favorable deal for Kyiv to resolve its conflict with Moscow.
Foreign media reported the remarks, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.
“Two years ago, he could have reached an agreement on more favorable terms than he can under the current circumstances,” Trump said.
Trump also claimed that Zelensky had never seriously sought to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
“Zelensky doesn’t care about it. Frankly, considering the money Europe has given him, and the money Joe Biden provided before, he does not want to end this war and probably never did,” Trump said.
The US president again accused Zelensky of driving up diesel prices on the global market:
“Zelensky is striking oil refineries in Russia that produce diesel fuel, and he knows very well that these actions are seriously hurting the global diesel market, including in the United States. Our farmers, ranchers and business owners are suffering greatly as a result.”
He added that Russia was nevertheless supplying millions of barrels of diesel fuel to global markets at low prices.
