US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he would support and work with states seeking to generate wealth through artificial intelligence. AnewZ reports that he made the remarks after Tuesday’s elections, whose results unsettled markets and prompted Democrats to outline their technology plans.
“I am 100 percent in favor of super intelligence (SI) and will work with the many states in the US that want to get rich through it,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The statement reflects the administration’s efforts to replace the widely used term “artificial intelligence” (AI) with “super intelligence.” The White House has begun referring to the technology in those terms.
Order calls for terminology change in official documents
Trump signed an order directing federal departments and agencies, where permitted by law, to replace “Artificial Intelligence” and “AI” with “Super Intelligence” and “SI” in official correspondence, public relations, websites, reports and policy documents.
The president has previously taken a hard line on the choice of terminology. He said he considered those who continued to use “artificial intelligence” instead of “super intelligence” to be “enemies.”
The administration has also established a “Super Intelligence Force” to oversee and coordinate the government’s work on the technology.
