Former France forward Thierry Henry has shared his views on the controversy surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo. Henry said he was not involved in the situation and that resolving the issue was up to the parties concerned.
Henry stressed that he would not judge Ronaldo’s entire career on the basis of the controversy. He said he would not think of the incident when considering the Portuguese footballer, adding that Ronaldo’s contributions to the game had been extraordinary.
The former French player praised Ronaldo’s dedication to football, his pursuit of records and excellence, and his physical condition. Henry said that without this commitment, football fans might not know Ronaldo. He added that he greatly respects Lionel Messi, Ronaldo and other players who have managed to stay at the top.
It was reported that Ronaldo left Portugal’s national team camp ahead of a Nations League match against Denmark. Reports claimed the departure followed a disagreement with head coach Jorge Jesus and that the player had ended his international career.
