Suspect detained for series of thefts in Baku's Khazar district

A 40-year-old man has been detained in the Khazar district of Baku for allegedly committing a series of thefts from residential properties and commercial workshops, resulting in significant financial loss.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Azerbaijan released information regarding the incident. According to the statement, the suspect, identified as Sh. Abdullayev, is accused of stealing cash, household appliances, electrical tools, and combi boilers from five houses and two workshops located within the district. The total material damage caused to the victims is estimated at approximately 20,000 AZN. Following his apprehension, it was discovered that the suspect had already sold a portion of the stolen goods.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan continues to intensify its efforts against property crimes and theft in the capital and surrounding regions. Law enforcement agencies emphasize the importance of implementing modern security measures for residential and commercial properties to prevent such incidents. An investigation into the case is currently ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspect's criminal activities and to recover the remaining stolen property.
