Railway rails have been stolen from a railway area in Lankaran district.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed of the incident by the regional group of the Press Service of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Police officers detained three district residents — 50-year-old A. Isayev, 53-year-old I. Gambarov and 37-year-old N. Bayramov — at the scene while they were allegedly cutting and stealing railway rails, the ministry said.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
Railway infrastructure is a critical component of transport safety, and the theft or deliberate damage of rails can disrupt services and pose serious risks to passengers and railway operations.
