Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, owner of Manchester City and holding company City Football Group (CFG), has invested a further £100 million (about €115 million), reaffirming his long-term commitment to the sports project. British business publication City A.M. reported the investment.

According to the publication, citing information from the UK’s Companies House register, the holding company registered the issuance of 11,327,163 new shares on October 14. The move enabled it to raise a nine-figure sum.

A CFG representative confirmed that all the shares were purchased by Sheikh Mansour’s Newton Investment and Development company. As a result, his controlling stake in the holding company rose to 81%.

The financial transaction was completed just two weeks after a Premier League commission announced its decision finding the club guilty. Legal proceedings between Manchester City and the league are continuing.
