A Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said it intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis toward the Saudi cities of Taif and Yanbu, according to Anadolu Agency.

Coalition spokesman Brig. Gen. Turki al-Maliki said in a post on “X” that the missiles had been intercepted and destroyed.

The incident came amid escalating hostilities between the Houthis and the coalition, including attacks targeting Saudi airports and energy facilities.

Saudi Arabia has led a military coalition supporting Yemen’s government against the Houthis since 2015.

The Houthis have controlled Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, and other parts of the country since 2014.
