Armenian Deputy Speaker highlights regional normalization progress

Progress in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Türkiye will facilitate and provide new impetus to the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that these remarks were made by Ruben Rubinyan, the Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Milli Majlis (National Assembly).

"We believe that progress in the normalization process between Armenia and Türkiye will assist the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan by providing it with new momentum," he noted. Rubinyan further emphasized the significant progress in the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, stating: "In general, I think the processes are moving in a positive direction. We are already seeing certain results and we will see more."

The normalization efforts between Baku and Yerevan have intensified following the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. Azerbaijan has consistently advocated for a peace treaty based on the principles of international law, including mutual recognition of sovereignty and border inviolability. The opening of regional transport communications and the delimitation of borders remain key pillars of the ongoing diplomatic negotiations aimed at ensuring long-term stability in the South Caucasus.
