President Ilham Aliyev has commended Pakistan's diplomatic mediation efforts, emphasizing the strategic partnership between Baku and Islamabad. During his remarks, the President noted, "I called the Prime Minister of Pakistan, my dear friend Shehbaz Sharif, to congratulate him on the agreement reached. This was the result of the mediation efforts demonstrated by Pakistan. It once again shows that Pakistan enjoys great respect at the international level. Pakistan is the only country that was able to mediate and take this responsibility upon itself."
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks while discussing Pakistan's role regarding the US-Iran conflict during the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.
The head of state emphasized the necessity of a ceasefire in light of recent events and rising tensions, stating that no other country could have performed this mission as successfully as Pakistan. He further noted that the extensive efforts undertaken by the Pakistani leadership demonstrate the country's international standing and diplomatic capability, expressing confidence that these continued efforts will contribute to bringing peace to the Middle East.
