Pakistan has highly commended Azerbaijan's pivotal role in hosting the World Environment Day in 2026.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, this statement was released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan on its official page on the X social network.
"On the occasion of World Environment Day, Pakistan reaffirms its commitment to enhancing climate resilience and sustainable development. We highly value Azerbaijan's role in hosting World Environment Day and its contribution to the dialogue on one of the most pressing issues facing humanity. Together, we must translate our commitments into concrete actions for a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future," the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs read.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry also called on the global community to undertake concrete commitments to achieve a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future for all.
It is worth noting that Azerbaijan will host World Environment Day on June 5, 2026, under the auspices of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). This event underscores Azerbaijan's growing influence in international environmental diplomacy, following the successful hosting of COP29 in Baku, which solidified the nation's position as a key player in global climate action and sustainable development dialogue.
