Asim Munir Tehranda Pezeşkianla görüşdü

The Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi during an official visit to Tehran.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing the Fars News Agency, the primary objective of the discussions was to advance Pakistan's mediation mission aimed at finding a compromise between Iran and the United States. During the meetings, Field Marshal Asim Munir discussed the details of the peace process with President Pezeshkian and Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf, who leads Iran's parliamentary framework on talks with the US. The discussions with Foreign Minister Araghchi focused on preventing regional escalation, mitigating conflict risks, and restoring stability in Western Asia.

Pakistan has historically maintained a delicate balancing act in its relations with Iran and Western nations, frequently offering to act as a diplomatic bridge during periods of heightened geopolitical tension. This diplomatic initiative comes amid ongoing efforts by regional actors to de-escalate tensions and foster dialogue between Tehran and the administration of US President Donald Trump to ensure long-term security in the region.
