Some two-wheeled vehicle drivers are creating dangerous situations for pedestrians.
The Interior Ministry’s Intelligent Transport Management Center (NIIM) provided the information to “Operative Information Center-OMM”.
The center said some two-wheeled vehicle drivers violate the rules intentionally or unintentionally:
“Analysis of such violations, particularly those recorded on central streets and avenues in the capital, shows that some people working as couriers do not dismount when using pedestrian crossings and continue riding their vehicles. This creates dangerous situations for pedestrians and makes accidents inevitable. Drivers of two-wheeled vehicles must dismount and cross the road on foot when using pedestrian crossings. Analysis of footage recorded by surveillance cameras also shows that, as a result of awareness-raising and explanatory efforts, many bicycle and scooter riders are now following the rules on roads, sidewalks and pedestrian crossings.”
