Azerbaijan raises fees for vehicles held in impound lots

Fees for vehicles towed to and stored at guarded parking facilities operated by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have been approved.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the decision was adopted by the Collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Under the decision, a fee of 30 manats, including value-added tax, has been set for bringing one vehicle, or several vehicles in a single trip, to a guarded parking facility by a tow truck.

The storage fee will vary depending on the vehicle’s weight:

• Up to 3.5 tons – 2 manats;
• From 3.5 tons to 10 tons – 3 manats;
• More than 10 tons – 5 manats.

An additional charge equal to 50% of the established fee will apply to the storage of vehicles with trailers.

Under the decision, the storage fee begins accruing at 00:00 on the day after the vehicle is brought to the guarded parking facility.

Accordingly, vehicle owners will be charged 30 manats for towing and a daily storage fee of 2, 3 or 5 manats, depending on the vehicle’s weight. Guarded impound facilities are used to hold vehicles removed from roads under relevant administrative or traffic enforcement procedures.
