Heydar Aliyev Foundation Vice President Leyla Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony on October 21 of the World Summit titled “Investing in Children’s Well-being: Towards Sustainable and Equitable Development for Future Generations” and the Second International Congress on Pediatric Oncology in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan’s First Lady Ziroat Mirziyoyeva welcomed Leyla Aliyeva and other participants before the opening ceremony, Operative Information Center-OMM reports.

More than 100 countries are represented at the events, which are being held on October 21-22.
Uzbekistan organized the summit at its initiative, in cooperation with the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children, the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the World Health Organization and the World Bank.
The Samarkand Declaration is expected to be adopted at the conclusion of the summit.
