Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei has directed the armed forces to respond immediately to any threat against the country, without geographical limits. The statements were published on Khamenei’s social media accounts on October 31, AnewZ reported.

“Any threat, at any level and of any kind, must be met with an immediate, effective response without geographical limits,” a statement posted on Khamenei’s Telegram account said.

The statement added that if military operations against Iran resume, Tehran will decide when and under what conditions retaliatory strikes will end.

“If Iran’s enemies resume military or terrorist attacks, the Islamic Republic’s armed forces and the Iranian people will decide when and under what conditions these attacks will end,” the directive said.

Khamenei also conveyed the same message to senior commanders of Iran’s Armed Forces. Several posts with the same content were published on his X account.

Under the directive, Khamenei also instructed army commanders to update the list of Israeli and U.S. targets. The statement stressed the need for a comprehensive update of the military target database so that all of the enemy’s physical and non-physical resources could become targets for the armed forces.

Mohammad Akraminia, a spokesman for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, had previously warned U.S. President Donald Trump that Iran would respond forcefully to any future U.S. attack.

Trump says war will end soon

Trump said on Friday that the war with Iran would end soon but did not explain how. “This will be over soon,” he said in an interview with KCMO, a regional U.S. radio station.

“We need a guarantee that there will never be a nuclear weapon,” Trump added.

Qatari mediators returned to Tehran on October 30 to pursue a peace agreement under discussion between Iran and the United States.
