An Israeli drone dropped two bombs on a house between Shoukin and Mayfadoun in the Nabatieh district on Monday, with no injuries reported, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) said, according to Anadolu Agency.
Israeli artillery intermittently shelled the al-Sawwan area on the outskirts of Mayfadoun and struck Mansouri in the Tyre district, the agency reported.
Israeli forces also set off two large explosions in the al-Ruwais neighborhood of Zawtar al-Sharqiya, NNA said. An Israeli airstrike targeted the outskirts of Qantara in the Wadi al-Saluki area of the Marjayoun district.
Separately, a person collecting scrap metal was injured when a suspicious object exploded at the Deir Kifa junction in the Tyre district. The person’s condition was not disclosed.
A US-sponsored agreement reached between Lebanon and Israel on June 26 calls for a gradual Israeli withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army and the disarmament of armed groups.
Israeli attacks on Lebanon have continued despite the agreement. Since March 2, they have killed at least 4,386 people and injured 12,407 others, while displacing more than 1 million people.
Israel continues to occupy areas in southern Lebanon, some held for decades and others seized during the 2023-2024 war. During the latest conflict, Israeli forces advanced around 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) into Lebanese territory.
