The Islamic Republic of Iran has warned Middle Eastern countries to immediately stop all support for Washington if a new phase of military operations between Tehran and the United States begins.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” said, citing RIA Novosti, that Tehran’s ultimatum had been conveyed to regional leaders through diplomatic channels.
Fada-Hossein Maleki, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s parliament, the Islamic Consultative Assembly, said Tehran was calling on neighbouring and regional countries to withdraw all military and logistical support for the United States.
Recalling the experience of 40 days of intense confrontation, the Iranian lawmaker said:
“During previous military operations, Iran’s Armed Forces responded with strikes directly targeting military bases and strategic facilities in any country used by the United States to launch attacks and aggression. Regional states should understand that allowing the United States to use their territory and military bases makes those countries direct parties to the conflict and puts them at risk of attack.”
Meanwhile, an analysis published by the US newspaper The New York Times said Washington and Israeli leaders were considering a scenario involving another large-scale military strike on Iran immediately after the midterm elections for the US House of Representatives and Senate.
Experts view Tehran’s warning as a deterrent diplomatic and military pressure move aimed at Arab states hosting US military infrastructure in the Middle East.
