Fuad Nağıyev: Dairəvi yaşıl turizm inkişaf üçün vacibdir

Circular "green tourism" has emerged as one of the most critical approaches defining the future trajectory of the tourism industry. This shift emphasizes sustainability, environmental stewardship, and the long-term viability of travel destinations.

As reported by Operative Information Center-OMM, Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, made these remarks at the international conference titled "Green Tourism in CICA Countries" held in Baku.

According to Naghiyev, tourism in the modern era has evolved beyond a mere economic sector; it is now an integral component of social welfare, cultural exchange, and ecological responsibility. "Success in tourism is currently measured by how value is distributed and the impact on nature and local communities. In Azerbaijan, the development of nature-based tourism routes, ecotourism, and agrotourism directions are among the key priorities of our sustainable tourism policy," he stated.

The conference, which brought together representatives from member states of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), serves as a platform to exchange best practices in sustainable development. Azerbaijan has been actively promoting its liberated territories and regions as hubs for green energy and eco-friendly tourism, aligning with the country's broader strategy to diversify its economy and achieve carbon neutrality goals by 2050.
