The European Union is looking forward to the holding of the European Political Community (EPC) summit in Azerbaijan in 2028, according to official statements made in the capital.
The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, made the remarks during a joint press statement with President Ilham Aliyev in Baku, Operative Information Center-OMM reports. The high-level visit focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the European Union, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of the upcoming summit as a platform for pan-European dialogue.
The European Political Community is an intergovernmental forum for political and strategic discussions about the future of Europe, established in 2022 following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. By hosting the summit in 2028, Azerbaijan further solidifies its role as a key bridge between Europe and the Caspian region, building on its experience in hosting major international events such as COP29 and various global humanitarian forums.
