Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day Patriotic War continues to bring joy across the Turkic world and represents the restoration of historical justice.
“Operative Information Center-OMM” reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the remarks during a statement to the media in Shusha alongside President Ilham Aliyev.
Emphasizing the importance of ties with Azerbaijan, the Turkish president said: “Relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan have stood the test of time. Today, we speak of the unity of hearts embodied in the saying ‘One nation, two states.’ Our ties draw strength from our shared past. Our brotherhood has long gone beyond the common ground of language, history and culture. That is why today we do not separate the joy of Baku from that of Ankara.”
Erdogan said those seeking to weaken the brotherhood between Ankara and Baku, enshrined in the Shusha Declaration in June 2021, would never achieve their goals.
