Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has addressed the neutralization of a ballistic missile launched from Iran within Turkish airspace.

According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the Turkish President made these remarks during an iftar dinner with military personnel.

President Erdogan emphasized that Turkiye is working closely with NATO allies to take all necessary precautions regarding the incident. "At a time when our region is passing through difficult days, we leave nothing to chance. As seen in today's incident, we are conducting close consultations with our NATO allies, taking all necessary measures, and performing immediate interventions when required," the President stated.

The incident occurs amid heightened regional tensions and underscores the strategic importance of Turkiye's integrated air defense systems. As a key member of NATO, Turkiye hosts critical early-warning radar systems in its southeastern regions, which play a vital role in the alliance's collective missile defense architecture. This interception highlights the ongoing security challenges in the Middle East and the necessity of rapid response mechanisms to protect national and allied sovereign airspace.
