The match between England and Bolivia at the FIFA U-15 World Cup in Baku was marked by a controversial penalty decision. England won 3-2.
The match, played with eight players on each side, consisted of two 20-minute halves. The disputed incident came in the 41st minute, with the score tied at 2-2.
Bolivia protests the decision
England and West Ham player Emmanuel Famok fell during a challenge with a Bolivia player. Although the foul appeared to have taken place outside the penalty area, the referee awarded a penalty.
Bolivia players strongly protested the decision and gathered around the referee. Members of the coaching staff also joined the protests. One coach entered the field and pointed to the spot where the foul had occurred. The referee showed cards to several members of Bolivia’s coaching staff.
Bolivia’s goalkeeper did not attempt to save the penalty. England went on to win the match 3-2.
